I'm a recent graduate of Georgetown Atelier in Seattle, Washington and have just started to compile a new body of work. Much of what you see here prior to 2022 is older work and hopefully you'll note an improvement. Because I paint both in Contemporary Alla Prima (fast small and larger works) and polished realism, both categories are listed as tabs beneath this section. Stay tuned. I'm a work in progress.

About Me

Susan Martin Spar: Born and raised in New York, I spent many an afternoon at the Metropolitan Museum of art gazing at works by Dutch and Renaissance painters - an experience that influences my work to this day. I attended FIT in New York and worked for 20 years in the graphic arts industry. I currently live in Port Angeles, WA. In 1998 I started to pursue a career in fine arts. I have participated in numerous juried competitions and sold my work in diverse venues from art festivals to galleries. My work resides in hundreds of private collections and is presently in three permanent public collections that include The Corona Heritage Park Museum in Corona, CA, the Millard Sheets Gallery in Pomona, CA, and the Painted Ponies Project of Temecula, CA. The Internet for me is the final frontier and an ever expanding one.
